Let me take you on a journey. My brand is more than just a business. Before R Mahoney Design was formally founded in 2007, I was an awkward teenager just trying to be happy, kind, and easy going. My teenage years truly defined who I am today and it’s only now I can appreciate that. Like for so many teeenage girls, those years were tough: mean girls, body issues, and trying to fit in despite not liking what social norms dictated. I felt pressured to strive to be like everyone else.

my why

I didn't realise it at the time, but these experiences would give me the confidence, tools, and knowledge that would become my ‘why’, when I started creating and designing my own clothes. My design process is self-taught, although I credit my wonderful Mum and Nonna who I spent many weekends working alongside, learning the skills that I have today. I have been working on my business for close to 20 years and have released a number of collections, as well as dabbling in custom designs for clients.

Over the last 20 years, I have been involved in the Townsville Fashion Festival, Fashion Bash, and several Townsville Choral Society musical productions as their costume designer. 

I am now excited to continue designing and releasing collections that embody the feminine spirit with garments to suit ALL women.
